Travelly Picture: Little Venice, Colmar

We went to Colmar, France for the first time last week as part of our Christmas market crawl. It’s definitely a picture-perfect kind of place, and our hotel was located on a spot called Little Venice – real little Venice would be more appropriate – which attracted lots of people taking pictures at all hours.

So I went out and joined them.

Travelly Picture: Edam, Holland

We went to Edam – yes the same Edam from the cheese –  for the day once, and it was a pretty little place. We walked around and ate fried fish and smoked eel and tasted dairy products.

I also took this picture.

Travelly Picture: Trees in Thailand

This is a picture of trees I took on some island in Thailand.  Oh, and some huts.

Travelly Picture: Marlborough, New Zealand Winery

After consuming copious amounts of Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand over the years, I figured it would be fun for us to volunteer on a winery in Marlborough when we were in New Zealand a couple years back. You see those nets on the grapes? It was our job to put those on using these little plastic bread bag tie things.

It wasn’t really all that fun in the end, but we did get some free wine and I also managed to take this picture with my digital camera while walking around the winery one day. You can see some mountains off in the distance and I have a sneaking suspicion that they probably play a role in making the wine from this region so special.

Oh yeah, if you click on the picture, I think it gets bigger.

Travelly Picture: Clervaux, Luxembourg

This week’s travelly picture of the week was actually taken, um, today, as during our Ardennes road trip, we came across this cool looking little town called Clervaux. We were driving down this steep hill and then all of the sudden there she was. Clervaux reminded me of a real life Christmas village or something and I just had to stop and take a picture with my digital camera.

Oh yeah, if you click on the picture, I think it gets bigger.

Travelly Picture: Ek Balam Ruins, Mexico

We spent a few weeks travelling around Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, and seeing the Ek Balam ruins were without a doubt one of the highlights. We got to the Ek Balam ruins late in the afternoon and had the place pretty much to ourselves. This was the view from the top of some ancient something or another built by people called Mayans.

Oh yeah, if you click on the picture, I think it gets bigger.

Travelly Picture: Langkawi Island, Malaysia

In addition to figuring out where we are going to travel this year, one thing I’ve also decided early on here in 2015 is that I want to try and stick to a more regular posting schedule here on worldwide Scott (please note the fact that I have spelled worldwide with lower case letters and capitalized Scott in an attempt to be cool). So, therefore, from here on out, you can count on two posts a week.

And one of these posts is going to be the Travelly Picture of the Week, which debuts today.

All these images will be pictures I have taken on my travels over the last few years, and I’m hoping they can bring something or another to the table. I can’t guarantee that they are necessarily good pictures and that they are going to inspire you, but I can promise that they will be pictures.

For the inaugural Travelly Picture of the Week, I have selected a shot I took on Langkawi Island, Malaysia. We were walking down the beach around sunset and saw these kids playing on these wooden poles in the sea, and I had a camera, and one thing led to another.

Oh yeah, if you click on the picture, I think it gets bigger or something.
